上班英文 “连假”、“补班”、“弹性放假”英文怎麽说？

长假过后，你是否跟小编一样出现了收假症候群(post-holiday blues)的症状呢？不过接下来还有四天的228连假可以期待，其实心情也不用太blue，不如跟着我们一起收心(get back into work mode)，一方面也学学各种放假与行事历英文用语吧！

连假long weekend

因为连假都发生在周末，连假英文说法其实就是long weekend，也可以用 3-day weekend或4-day weekend等等表达是几天的连假。

A: What are your plans for the upcoming long weekend?
B: There's this Netflix series I've been meaning to check out, so I think I'll
binge-watch it over the weekend.
A: 你这次连假要做什麽？
B: 我有一个一直想看的Netflix影集，所以我想我周末会卯起来追剧。

补班make-up workday

你是否也觉得连假固然美好，补班却令人难以承受呢？补班的英文是make-up workday，学生族也可以用school make-up day表示补课。片语动词make up for (sth) 原本就是弥补的意思，转为形容词形式make-up後可修饰workday，因此如果要表示补哪一天的班，后面也可以接for。例如：

According to the 2023 public holiday calendar released by the Directorate-General of Personnel Administration, there are going to be six make-up workdays this year.
根据人事行政处公告的行事历，今年有六个补班日。

We have to go to work this Saturday as it's a make-up workday for the Lunar New Year holidays.
这礼拜六因为是春节的补班日必须上班。

弹性放假bridge day

弹性放假在英文中可以说成 bridge day (或bridge holiday)，因为它的功能就象桥梁一样把假日串联起来。但要留意商务英文中还有一个flexible time off (FTO) 的用语，指的是劳工可以自行选择休假时间的企业休假制度，并不是政府机关为配合连续假日所给予的假期，小心不要混肴了喔。

The Peace Memorial Day falls on Tuesday this year so there will be a bridge holiday the day before, which makes it a 4-day weekend.
今年228和平纪念日是礼拜二，所以前一天会弹性放假变成四天连假。

特休annual leave

特休属於有薪假(paid leave)的一种，英文叫做annual leave也就是年假。

My employer offers very moderate financial perks, but it's quite generous with paid leaves – all full-time employees receive 14 days of annual leave after working for 12 months.
我们公司在奖金方面的福利普普，但是假给得很大方。所有全职员工工作满一年都有14天特休。

休假与请假的英文怎麽说
休假的英文是(take) time off，具体表示休几天则用take ~ day(s) off。如果要表示某一天休假或轮休可以说成have the day off。例如：I have the day off tomorrow (或Tomorrow is my day off)。顺带一提，从事轮班工作会用work (rotating) shifts表示。轮早晚班则用work morning / day / night / graveyard shift表达。

A: What time did you get off work yesterday?
B: Actually, I worked graveyard shift last night, so I just punched out 10 minutes ago.
A: 你昨天几点下班？
B: 其实昨天我上大夜所以10分锺前才刚打卡下班。

至於请假，可以说成ask for time off。假单则是leave request (或time-off request)。

A: I'd like to ask for a day off next Wednesday. Is there a specific form I should be filling out?
B: We have an employee leave management system. Just submit your
application online and your leave request will be processed within the day.
A: 我想下礼拜三请一天假。请问需要填什麽单子吗？
B: 公司有员工请假管理系统，只要线上提交申请就可以了。你的假单我们当天就会处理。
